Obituary for Allen William Balicki

Allen William Balicki
Allen William Balicki
December 15, 1939- June 29, 2018

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Allen William Balicki on June 29, 2018 after a brief battle with cancer. Allen was born December 15, 1939, the son of William & Mary (nee Kalinowski). Allen is survived by his wife of 56 years Bernice (nee Tweit), his children; Sherry Dallas (Kim Sparling) and Grandson: Shay of Saskatoon; Rob Balicki of Prince Albert, Allison Balicki of Red Deer, AB; his sister: Staffie Zeller of Coquitlam, BC, and son: Bobby Zeller of Abbotsford BC; sisters-in- law: Thelma Harvey of Ottawa, ON, Jean and Mel Brown of Langley, BC, and Marg Harris of Prince Albert, SK. Allen was quite the outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his buddies, he was a very generous with his time by volunteering with various clubs and organizations, such as the Operation Red Nose program, making bread at the exhibition for the Veselka Ukrainian club, Fish and Wild Life Federation, and many more. Always full of energy and on the go you would be sure to see Allen at coffee row every day and sometimes twice a day! Some of his best days would be spent at the lake with his grandson Shay fishing and hanging out at the cabin. Music was another passion; Al and his buddies would get together and have jam sessions. Friends and family were very important to Allen, he would be front and center at all family functions. Allen worked for the STC Bus company for 35 years until his retirement in 1998. Allen was predeceased by: his parents William and Mary, his parents-in-law: Thomas and Mary Tweit; his son-in-law: Vernon Dallas; and brother-in-law; Winston Harris. Dad will be sadly missed by his family and all those whose lives he touched. A celebration of Life will be held on September 8, 2018 at the Prince Albert Legion (133 8th Street East) from 1 till 5pm. Arrangements in care of MacKenzie Chapel & Crematorium – Shellbrook Funeral Home. Brian and Bev Stobbs, Renée Phaneuf - Funeral Directors. www.MacKenzieChapel.ca 306.763.8488.
