Obituary for Peter Emile McLachlan

Peter Emile McLachlan
Peter Emile McLachlan
February 10, 1960 – October 4, 2018
With much sadness and even more pride, we must share the news that Peter Emile McLachlan succumbed in his heroic battle with leukemia on October 4, 2018 at the age of 58.
Peter was born in Edmonton on February 10, 1960. At the age of 5 Peter was adopted, along with his brother Stephen, by Cal and Roberta “Birdie” McLachlan. Along with being chosen to be part of the McLachlan family, he was also fortunate enough to maintain a relationship with his biological father Chuck Gobeil throughout his life. His pursuit of life had Peter living numerous places, all the way from the near Artic to South America. It was there, in Guyana, that he met Jem, the love of his life. They were married June 3, 1998, and raised three sons Cliff, Daniel and Calvin. In 2005, Peter came back home and with his family settled in Prince Albert where they remain.
His loving wife: Jem; sons: Cliff, Daniel and Calvin; his adoring grandchildren: Tyrese, Alexa and Aria; father: Cal (Linda) McLachlan, mother: Roberta “Birdie” Herriot; siblings: Stephen McLachlan, Robert (Sandy) Herriot, Cathy (Mas) Hoshino, Jim Herriot, Donald (Kathy) Herriot, Donna Brady, Randy (Elaine) Gobeil, Kathy Gobeil and Robin (Robin) Ferrari; siblings-in-law: Patty Herriot, Mike (Mary) Austin, Clifford (Mahadia) Carter Davidson, Margaret Henry, Beverley Budburgh, Mary Davidson, Wanda (Bobby) Atkinson and Junior (Debra) Davidson; God-daughter: Olivia Stoll; God-son: Samuel Henry, as well as an abundance other family and friends are left to cherish the memories they shared with Peter.
Just as he cherished the memories he shared with his biological father: Chuck Gobeil; stepfather: Doug Herriot; brother: Ken Herriot; and parents-in-law: Henry and Ernestine Davidson who predeceased him.
Honourary Pallbearers: Angela Beaulieu (surrogate daughter), Doug and Bonnie Gaunt, Duane and Sandy DeFreitas, Egbert Stoll and Tommy Kenyon.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff at the Saskatoon Royal University Hospital oncology and ICU departments for their care and compassion. And also to those from near and far who gave their support, which was such a blessing.
Services will be held on Saturday October 13, 2018 at 1:00pm at MacKenzie funeral home with reception following. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada, 2020 – 10th Street N.W, Calgary, AB, T2M 3M2 or the charity of your choice. Arrangements in care of MacKenzie Chapel & Crematorium – Shellbrook Funeral Home. Brian and Bev Stobbs, Renée Phaneuf - Funeral Directors. www.MacKenzieChapel.ca 306.763.8488
